The
EzXchange program was developed to help individuals in
communities that are “underserved” and who may lack any
banking relationships, (the “unbanked”). According to an
analysis by VISA U.S.A., nearly 36 million households in
the US are underserved in terms of
receiving or being able to access traditional
financial services. Many of these households lack a bank
account and most do not own a credit or debit
card. EzXchange also helps cities and counties reduce
costs of delivering services and generating revenues. By
providing broadband access, these communities also help bridge the “digital divide” by bringing broadband
internet access to those who do not have access to power
of the internet today.
Prepaid Cards are rapidly
becoming an easy, convenient and safe electronic payment
option for unbanked workers and other important consumer
groups that have traditionally been excluded from access
to electronic payment products. Prepaid cards encourage
financial responsibility while providing all the
convenience of traditional credit and debit cards, such
as the ability to purchase products online,
receive cash at ATMs, travel without large amounts of
cash to name just a few.
